Acquiring Art

As we enter the last few months of 2026, it hardly seems believable!! We’d like to talk about collecting art and making art available to everyone.

After 18 years in the business we know that our market is effected directly with financial confidence and we also know that not only our business but the livelihood of our artists rely on us selling their work. Artists don’t stop painting because of an economic downturn, they keep creating and sending new work to us. Over half of our artists rely on art sales alone to live, while the other half juggle their painting practice with alternative jobs.

There is no better time than when an artist’s work ‘walks off the walls’, sell-out shows happening within hours of a catalogue coming out, and the paintings hanging on client walls. We have experienced many such glorious moments when we are all caught up in the excitement of the moment. However, now is not one of those times, and as you will know, we are very transparent with our collectors, visitors, and artists; we endlessly discuss ways around the situation. Is it more social media, more emails, more beautiful works, fewer opening nights, fewer exhibitions, more exhibitions? The conversations go on and on without ever reaching a clear solution.

What we do know is that our artists continue to create; the hunger for art does not diminish; the desire to surround yourself with beauty remains; and the story of art, together with the excitement of collecting, continues. Our job is to introduce the collector to the artwork and to find a way to make the love affair evolve.

We can help make the magic happen. Please contact us about acquiring art; we love lay-by, we store works on fully insured premises if you want to purchase pieces for a project that isn’t finished yet. We can introduce you to our artists for a bespoke commission. We offer many options to help you curate, plan, and invest in your own art collection.

We love finding a solution to keep our artists and collectors happy and engaged in the world of art, so do not hesitate to pick up the phone, drop a note to us or pop into the gallery to discuss your next art acquisition…
