‘Postcards From Peggy Zephyr’ Solo Show Now Open

What an epic installation and curated hang of new works by Peggy Zephyr.

In the wake of La Niña and Cyclone Alfred, it is no surprise that Zephyr has painted herself a fantastic vacation. Postcards from Peggy Zephyr offers a vivid escape, a sun-soaked antidote to grey skies, damp houses and washed-out days. Here, road trips stretch across golden afternoons, palm trees sway against lilac mountains and long, balmy evenings are filled with foreign chatter and the clink of delicious dishes.

Drawing on the potency of memory, Zephyr’s latest works act as visual snapshots, imagined, half-recalled and emotionally charged. She explores the heightened awareness that comes with arriving somewhere unfamiliar, where the fruit tastes sweeter, the ocean is warmer, the light clearer, and everything feels more alive.

These compositions collapse time and place into layered, restless scenes where gardens, weather and landscape intertwine. Expect to be immersed in a hypercolour world that invites recognition and longing, a sequence of moments you cannot quite place, but somehow know already.
