Part of the series “The Rooms of Perception,
Room n. VI explores memory and nostalgia through a dreamlike interior where the peacock, inspired by the fauna of Sardinia, where the artist grew up, acts as a quiet symbol of beauty and nostalgia for home. Resting within the space, the rhinoceros appears in a calm, almost sleep-like state, yet still carries a silent sense of power and presence. Its horn is regarded by many as a symbol of sacred geometry, conveys natural perfection, balance, and strength, but is dormant within the surreal atmosphere of the room. Hidden within the background shadows, a bunny-like figure, a character that recurrently appears in the artist’s mind, quietly connects this work to the other rooms of the series. The muse swinging above and reaching below, almost as if to awaken them. Sunflowers in a pot represent constraint and resilience, moving through psychological spaces, inner realms between memory, perception, and dream.
