A cat, licking its paw, evokes a sense of familiarity and comfort. Using oil glazing and impasto, Avanzini combines precise realism with softened atmospheric transitions. Controlled chiaroscuro enhances depth and contrast, while the aged walls and framed portraits reinforce themes of memory and impermanence. Vestiges explores the boundary between reality and perception, questioning what remains and what fades.
