Room n.IV (The Pianist)
A pianist practices alone in a richly decorated, bohemian living room, immersed in the quiet ritual of his
everyday life. Yet as he plays, the boundaries between reality and imagination begin to dissolve. The
figures around him may be muses or memories, snippets of fleeting thoughts, fragments of an inner world brought to life through music.
Two sources of light enter the room: one through the window, and another descending from an opening in
the double ceiling, where the sky becomes visible. This almost heavenly light transforms the interior into a space suspended between the everyday and the sublime.
The acrobat, the strange figures, and the surrounding objects exist somewhere between reality and fantasy, suggesting the continuous movement of the mind while we are absorbed in thought.
This room becomes a portrait of the pianist’s imagination, a place where an ordinary moment of practice opens into a world of wonder.
