Based on Gumbaynggir country, Peggy Zephyr is a versatile artist driven by a profound love for color and its limitless possibilities. Her practice, spanning painting, textiles, and sculpture, pulls apart and reconstructs personal narratives, conveying what words cannot say. Transitioning between precise hard-edge techniques and the raw, uninhibited nature of naive styles, Peggy's work embodies a vibrant spirit of creative exploration - she defies categorisation, embracing diverse styles with playful experimentation.

"One of the things I love most about making art is that no one can tell you it's wrong. There is no magic formula, there are no rules, ticks, or crosses. I was only ever interested in creative things. Creativity and uniqueness were highly valued in my artistic family it was the foundation of our unusual upbringing. Ever since I can remember, I have been drawing, painting, sewing, or sticking cardboard boxes together to make something. I didn't become an artist; it was always just what I did and how I looked at the world"
